Losing My
Composure.

I — IV

Four familiar chairs.
Four stages of letting go.

A set of vintage chairs becomes a study in control and release. Natural cane and chrome hold their shape. Along the black frame, something starts to slip.

01 / THE TRANSFORMATION

Same chairs.
A different state of mind.

Slide between the original form and the art-chair design. The cane and chrome remain the visual anchors; the borders and upholstery change the mood.

02 / THE ORIGINALS

Mid-century modern
in spirit.

The starting point is Alex’s set of four vintage cane-and-chrome chairs. Their rounded wooden backrests, open woven cane and upholstered seats sit on tubular steel cantilever frames—a light, spare silhouette associated with modernist furniture and often described as MCM style.

Warm wood and cane soften the reflective metal. The open frame leaves space beneath the seat, making the chair feel almost suspended.

MCM describes the style here. The original maker, model and manufacturing date have not been verified.

04 / THE SIGNATURE

A quiet mark.
On the reverse.

A small bronze plaque sits at the center of each backrest’s rear top rail. The engraving carries the series name, the individual chair number and Alex’s AA mark.

The numbers identify the four chairs in this set: I, II, III and IV.
